What a week! I just got back from my annual ‘creative break’ in Wanganui. This year I took a week long class with Mary Hettmannsperger, an amazing American artist (some funny accent inclusive) focussing on sculptural basketry. I knew it would be full on and I was right! We learnt about rib construction, twining with waxed linen, looping and knotting, making sculptural forms with wire, weaving with wire, you name it!
I totally enjoyed learning new techniques, I can take further to develop my own style. And its always great to make connections with like minded creatives. Here a couple of pieces I worked on during the week, some yet to be finished… but I certainly came home loaded with inspirations and ideas – watch the space!
