For the last couple of month’ I have been working towards an exhibition in Wellington. In my practical research I am looking at all things natural that evoke a sense of place, a memory or feelings of belonging and connection to the land I live on. They can be as big as the hills I am surrounded by or as small as a seed I am finging on my daily wanders through my neighborhood. They can be solid or fragile, hard or soft. I am always intrigued by the opposites.
Last week I came across a sycamore tree with their beautiful and unusual forms, I do remember pulling them apart and stuck them onto my nose as a child…
I am finding joy and peace to feel, knot and photograph them and I do love their ephemeral nature.
